Mirror, mirror...

I still can't tell whether Leah has figured out who she's looking at when she has a chuckle at her reflection in the mirror. It is the sweetest thing to watch her reaching out to herself, and I'm so glad I had the camera nearby when she decided to kiss that other little person.

I looked at the mirror
Mirror, looked back at me
I asked the mirror
What do you see?
The mirror smiled
"Same as you see"

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!

I know, I'm a bit slow on the upload, but I thought some of you might like to see our little "ankle biter" celebrating her first Australia Day... and helping her daddy celebrate his birthday, of course. We met up with "mates" down at Sorrento Beach. While the sun was out, it was - as they say - so windy it blew the milk out our tea. But we didn't let that stop us from throwing a few "snags" on the "barbie for "brekkie", or Leah from attempting a dip in the rather chilly water.

Strike a pose

Leah and I had a girly morning swanning around with scarves a while ago. She just cracked me up with some of her expressions...

How do I look?

How about like this?

Okay, a serious one.

My blue eyes give me away, huh?

First taste

Leah decided to end the old year and start a new one, by getting stuck into solids. She LOVED it and my blender has earned its keep while she's been munching away on everything she can get her sticky little fingers onto. Here are a few pics of the starter...

Feet, glorious feet

Oh to be this flexible!

Tummy time

Just a few pics of Leah enjoying some tummy time out on the deck.

When I Grow Up...

I want to be a drummer!

At five months, Leah discovered a new passion. And it's still not easy to get between her and her drum stick.

"Is there anybody out there wanna lend me a hand
With my one man band?"

Tour de Force

Leah, who is considering a cycling career of her own, would just like to say a big well done to her Petie Pops for finishing his 12th Cape Argus Cycle Tour.

30 years on...

Then...

Now...

Love this photo of my mom giving Leah a bath in the same tub I used to splash around in. I feel like I'm looking at one of those "spot the difference" pictures every time I look at it.

She wore an...

Itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, pink polka-dot cozzie and really made the most of her holiday, unwinding by the pool and spending a day at the seaside. Daddy kept the boys at bay.

When I Grow Up...

I want to be a milliner!

While we were back in SA, Leah was a proper show-off, donning all sorts of weird and wonderful head gear. Which got me thinking... What will our little girl love or be?? Right now, she's a happy little handful and I'll be providing more instalments as we discover the things that get a smile out of her.

Leah and her muse.

Hilhairious

Leah knew just how to bring her Aunty Ames down in a raspberry blowing wrestle...

Surprise!

It took my mom, my sister and I a month of sneaky planning... and one very long flight from Aus to SA... but the reward was worth all the jet lag seeing my dad's face when Leah and I surprised him for his 60th birthday in December. Thank you to my sister for capturing the special moment.

Here are a few pics from the party, where it seems that a certain little miss might have stolen her Petie Pops's show!

Miss you all xxx
